There's very little you need to do before we arrive.

If your fan is mounted in the ceiling and ducted through the loft, please ensure we have safe access to the loft space if possible.

If you’re replacing the fan because of condensation or mould, it can be helpful to let us know when booking. In some cases, we may recommend a different type of fan to improve ventilation and better suit your property.

What Happens During the Visit?

When your electrician arrives, they'll first inspect the existing fan and confirm that a replacement is the most suitable solution.

Before work begins, the fan will normally be isolated using the local fan isolator. The existing fan will then be removed and the replacement installed using the existing wiring and ducting where appropriate.

Once fitted, the fan will be tested to ensure it is operating correctly, including any timer or humidity controls where fitted. Before leaving, the work area will be left clean and tidy, and the electrician will answer any questions you may have.

How Long Does It Usually Take?

A straightforward bathroom fan replacement typically takes around 1½ hours.

The exact time can vary depending on the location of the fan, ease of access and the type of replacement fan being installed.
